The Lighthouse Academy training program brought together professionals experienced in youth work, non-formal education, and creative practice from four countries: Sweden, Hungary, Ireland, and Germany, to join the project. It took place in Hungary from May 23 to 31, 2025. The Academy explored creative methods such as visual storytelling, graphic facilitation, and game-based learning to engage vulnerable youth and promote equality.
Alongside the creative methods for exploring human rights topics proposed by the Academy trainers, participants also shared their own ideas within a peer-to-peer learning format — learning from one another through active exchange and collaboration. They built, on the one hand, on the approaches and concepts discussed during the Academy, and on the other hand, on their own creative experience in youth work.

Academy manual on Human Rights and Creative Methods in Youth Work, packed with visuals, videos and cartoons made by our amazing trainers and participants is available here. One can learn these methods in just a week and use them to inspire others in your own work.
